Americas 2006 Catalyst Projects

This catalyst project will address the process for providing service provider customers with Voice over IP products, specifically Consumer VoIP. In addition to core eTOM - service configuration and activation, and resource provisioning, additional eTOM functions will be added for billing, assurance, and Operational Support. Participating companies are BSB, CANTV.NET, BEA Systems, CA-Wily, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Lucent, MetaSolv Software, Progress Software

The NGN OSS Blueprint Catalyst team will demonstrate how to use a service oriented architecture (SOA) and standards-based OSS solution to bridge the gap between service creation, product management and service fulfillment for IMS and other converged services infrastructure. Sponsored by France Telecom, participating companies are BEA Systems, Ceon, Cognizant Technology Solutions, NetCracker, Pantero

The scope of this catalyst project is confined to the application of emerging standards such as New Generation OSS (NGOSS) for IPTV Fulfillment. The project demonstrates how the NGOSS principles of eTOM and SID can be used to improve the IPTV Fulfillment processes and share the information amongst processes. The eTOM processes are layered keeping into account the different players of the Telecom Domain from the business as well as the operations perspective. Project participants are Chunghwa Telecom, Aktavara, Alcatel, Microsoft, Nortel Networks, Tech Mahindra

This catalyst sets out to investigate and prove an OSS/IT architecture that can support the factory agility needed to reduce production costs and speed time to market. Also to investigate how OSS/BSS can embrace a service creation environment paradigm that can join both operational and service execution environments together. Sponsored by BT Group, Cable & Wireless, and TeliaSonera. Participating companies are ATOS Origin, Axiom Systems, Celona, Huawei, Oracle Corp

This project aims to realize core principles of TNA based SOA and implement end-to-end process management for service fulfillment and service assurance based on these architectures in real industry environments. Also in respect of implementation methodology, we will design business processes and data models based on eTOM and SID which are key components of NGOSS. Sponsored by NTT, participating companies are KT, Agilent Technologies, Microsoft, Satyam Computer Services, Siemens

The project aims to show that by adopting open standards for SSO we can increase security at the same time as lowering the cost of rolling out or running network management systems. The basis for this work is TMF058 CO~OP Architecture Specification Release 2. Sponsors are Telefonica Moviles EspaƱa and theCOOP Program Council. Participating companies are Alcatel, Ericsson, Nokia, Siemens, Wipro, Evidian, Sun
