Existing ecosystem of supporting tools and services

The Multi-technology Operations System Interface (MTOSI ) is a TeleManagement Forum (TMF) initiative that provides a standard, open interface that facilitates ease of integration in telecommunications IT environments. Since its inception, the standard has gained significant support from software tool vendors and services companies. In fact, there are already several tools available that cover the entire MTOSI lifecycle including modeling, development and deployment. Available MTOSI tools allow for the creation of new services, the MTOSI enablement of existing MTNM systems, CCV (Common Communication Vehicle) implementations that address the technology neutral aspect of MTOSI. All of this can be done without sacrificing existing enterprise QoS. IONA has embraced MTOSI and the company's MTOSI Toolkit for Artix provides a variety of developer resources that leverage the MTOSI standard to allow seamless integration of Operations Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS) as the foundation of new business initiatives.

Other

Basic development of MTOSI implementation can be achieved using industry standard toolkits such as BEA Weblogic, IBM WebSphere, AXIS, Sun’s Java RI, Glassfish, Iona Artix and XML tools, such as XMLSPY. The MTOSI Implementation team has developed some specialized tooling to support the development and evolution of MTOSI particularly to support enhancement of the information models.

Tooling is available as open Source on www.sourceforge.net (Model Wizard )
